OUR HISTORY

The Vermont Rail System has been family-owned and operated by the Wulfson family for more than 50 years. Several of our employees are third and fourth-generation railroaders. We take pride in the work environment we have created over the years; each one of our employees a part of the family.

Here at the Vermont Rail System, it is our mission to make each one our guests feel like part of our family. The Wulfson family has owned and operated the Vermont Railway since 1964. With strong dedication to customer service, it is our mission to provide high-quality, unforgettable experiences that connect generations through rail travel.

Located in the beautiful city of Burlington.

We offer seasonal departures from Burlington, Vermont. Burlington is a beautiful destination year-round, located just off of Lake Champlain with plenty of shopping and attractions.

OUR EQUIPMENT

The perfect venue for your next special event!

We have a beautiful fleet and more than 10 rail cars that were built between 1931 and 1937. Most of our cars have had their interiors restored and altered for more modern uses. Our variety of dining cars, coaches, lounge cars, and our private business car make the perfect location for weddings, corporate events, private charters, and more!

Great Experience!

We booked both the dinner and lounge car for our 25th Anniversary. The staff was incredible from purchasing tickets, all the way to the end of the trip. They went above and beyond to celebrate us and provide great service. We were given a rose and petals sprinkled in the table with a bottle of champagne!

Great Ride & Dinner!

The ride was so much fun! The dinner was very good, the service was excellent: very polite and friendly. This is a unique dining and travel, experience that you just don’t see much of anymore. We highly recommend it! And the Vermont scenery, along Lake Champlain with the mountains, the farms and the sunset was beautiful. You must go. All aboard!
